History 13

  1. The Metropolitan Railway opens from Paddington to Farringdon, the oldest section of the line.
  2. The Hammersmith & City Railway opens from Hammersmith to Paddington.
  3. Extended from Farringdon to Moorgate.
  4. Trains run on beyond Liverpool Street to Whitechapel.
  5. Electric trains reach Hammersmith; the line east of Paddington had been electric since 1 July 1905.
  6. Goldhawk Road opens, and Shepherd's Bush moves to a new site (renamed Shepherd's Bush Market in 2008).
  7. Through trains start running to Barking.
  8. C69 Stock enters service.
  9. Shown on the map as a line of its own, in pink.
  10. Wood Lane opens.
  11. The first S7 Stock trains run, between Hammersmith and Moorgate.
  12. New signalling goes live between Hammersmith and Latimer Road, its first section anywhere.
  13. New signalling goes live from Stepney Green to Becontree, completing it on the whole line.
